EASL Annual Sporting Clays Scramble

EASL holds an annual Sporting Clays Scramble each year in June.  It's our premier fundraising event and a great opportunity for fellowship. Sporting Clays is a challenging clay target game designed to simulate field wing shooting, where shooters are presented with a wide variety of targets that simulate flight path of game birds such as flushing, crossing, incoming and other angling shots. The scramble mixes all shooters for the day on random teams, assuring that everyone has a chance to be on a winning team as well as winning the individual category.

EASL's 6th annual Sporting Clays Scramble will be Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Hunter's Run Gun Club, in Port Allen.

Join EASL for a fun day of shooting and fellowship!

Registration begins at 7:30am and competition starts at 8:30am. Registration fees: Single shooter, $80; Corporate Team, $300; Station Sponsor, $100. Entry fee includes event shooting (100 rounds) and a meal after the match. Shooters must furnish their own shells (no larger than 7 ½ shot).

Hunter's Run Gun Club, one of our area's most popular shooting ranges, has proven to be an excellent host for this event and has comfortable accommodations for everyone, including non-participants who might want to cheer their favorite shooters on.

The “scramble” mixes all shooters for the day on random teams, assuring that everyone has a chance to be on a winning team. Individual scores will also be tallied to credit corporate team registrations and individual high scores as well, assuring every shooter – novice or expert – three ways to win. First, second and third place trophies will be awarded in Scramble Team, Corporate Team, and Individual Shooter categories. You do not have to be a professional or a Corporate Team member to win a prize.

We are looking for individual shooters, corporate team shooters, station sponsors, door prizes, meal sponsors and volunteer workers for the day of the event.

Registration fees will be collected on the day of the event. Come out and join us in a friendly day of competition and fellowship for EASL’s fundraising event. For more information contact Barney Callahan at 225-445-6870.
